600 vs 1000 mm Remote Snow Thrower: GC-196-60 or GC-420-100?

The two tracked snow throwers share a catalog remote range but differ in working width, engine, throwing distance and handling size.

Compare catalog specifications with your exact site and final quotation.
01 / Compare published specifications

Put both exact model codes on one sheet.

The GC-196-60 lists a 600 mm snow-clearing width and a Loncin 196 gasoline engine rated at 4.8 kW. The GC-420-100 lists a 1000 mm width and a Loncin 420 gasoline engine rated at 9.8–11 kW. Both product tables list 30–500 mm snow-clearing height, 400 m remote-control range and a climbing capability of no more than 45°. These are published catalog figures for the named machines, not a guarantee for every snow condition.

02 / Measure the route before choosing width

A 1000 mm clearing width needs more than a 1000 mm opening.

Measure the narrowest gate, footpath, ramp and turn along the route, then compare the machine's overall dimensions. The catalog lists GC-196-60 at 1200 × 750 × 870 mm and GC-420-100 at 1540 × 1000 × 950 mm. Allow extra space for control, clearance and site obstacles; a published clearing width is not the full outside width. For a constrained route, start by checking the 600 mm model drawing. For broader open areas, compare the 1000 mm model if transport and access allow it.

The published working-efficiency figures are 2,000 and 2,800 m²/h, respectively. They are catalog values rather than a promised job duration. Turns, snow depth and density, traction, discharge direction and interruptions can change actual output. Request comparable operating footage if the schedule is critical.

Choosing between roughly 24-inch and 39-inch clearing widths?

The listed 600 mm and 1000 mm working widths convert to approximately 23.6 and 39.4 inches. These are clearing widths, not interchangeable model names. GC-196-60’s 750 mm overall width is approximately 29.5 inches; GC-420-100’s listed 1000 mm overall width is approximately 39.4 inches. Confirm the actual configuration and clearance needed at every gate and turn before ordering.

03 / Check snow and discharge conditions

The same site can present different work after each storm.

Tell the supplier whether the work is fresh or compacted snow, the typical and maximum depth, surface material, slope, buried obstacles and where snow may be discharged. The catalog gives a throwing-distance range of 1–3 m for GC-196-60 and 1–5 m for GC-420-100. Confirm the discharge arrangement on the actual unit and whether those distances suit the site; never assume snow can be thrown across a road, property boundary or area where people may be present.

Both tables show a 400 m remote range and a slope figure of ≤45°. Those numbers do not establish safe operation at the edge of that range or on icy side slopes. Request the current operating manual and a site-specific recommendation, and plan an operator position with a clear view.

04 / Ask for an order-ready comparison

Put the machine, freight and support in one written quotation.

For the selected model, request engine designation, actual clearing-head configuration, controller and failsafe instructions, current unit and crate drawings, net and gross weight, manuals, wear parts and warranty procedure. State the destination, quantity, requested delivery term and whether local unloading equipment is available. The shipping quotation checklist covers the documents and charges to compare.

Choosing winter equipment?

Select GC-196-60 or GC-420-100 in the quick quote form, or describe the path width, snow conditions and destination so the team can confirm the appropriate configuration.
